A conversation with Christina McDonald, Wendy Walker & J.T. Ellison
Tonight I had the privilege to join the Cuyahoga County Public Library's event: "A Conversation with Christina McDonald, Wendy Walker and J.T. Ellison." It was such a captivating thriller panel event tonight to meet these three authors and hear about their new books released this year. Our Book Club Shelf Indulgence will be reading each of these, this year and next. And some of these authors such as Christina and J.T. will be joining our club discussion as well. I always love hearing the back stories of what motivated the authors to write these captivating page turners, and their process behind each one of these books they publish. They are so unique and incredible as is their work.
Today is Christina McDonald's pub release date for Do No Harm, and I'm so excited.
My favorite quote from the event, "We all see murder in all these different ways." I couldn't help but giggle and agree.
The burning question or thought is, what is your ghost? The one thing that has stayed with you, shaped you, made you or what books you create who you are?
Personally after this event, I can't wait for more of these library events this year!!
About the authors & books:
Christina McDonald is the USA Today bestselling author of Behind Every Lie and The Night Olivia Fell, which has been optioned for television by a major Hollywood studio. Originally from Seattle, Washington, she now lives in London, England, with her husband, two sons, and their dog, Tango.
Do No Harm is a timely and moving exploration of a town gripped by the opioid epidemic, examining whether the ends ever justify the means, even for a desperate mother.
Wendy Walker is the author of the psychological suspense novels All is Not Forgotten, Emma In The Night, The Night Before, and Don't Look For Me. Her novels have been translated into 23 foreign languages and have topped bestseller lists both nationally and abroad. Prior to her writing career, Wendy practiced both corporate and family law, and she also worked as a financial analyst at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Wendy is currently finishing her next thriller and managing a busy household in Connecticut.
Don't Look for Me is the compelling and emotionally powerful story of a daughter's desperate search to find her mother - who disappeared from a small, desolate town - before it's too late.
J.T. Ellison began her career as a presidential appointee in the White House, where a nuclear physicist taught her how to obsess over travel itineraries and make a seriously good pot of Earl Grey, spawning both her love of loose leaf and a desire for control of her own destiny. Jaded by the political climate in D.C., she made her way back to her first love, creative writing. More than 20 novels later, she is an award-winning New York Times and USA Today bestselling author with millions of books in print, and is published in 28 countries and 16 languages.
Her Dark Lies takes place at a majestic cliff-top villa off the Italian coast, where up-and-coming artist Claire Hunter will marry handsome, charming Jack Compton, surrounded by close family, intimate friends, and a host of dark secrets. But something on the island seems amiss. At the wedding of the year, a killer needs no invitation.
